In their first road game of the season the Forest Lake Brewers defeated the Blaine Fusion last Tuesday by a score of 6-3.
Heading into the game the Fusion had an impressive 18-1 record.

The Fusion scored a first inning run, but the Brewers got on the board in the top of the third inning when Alex Johnson hit a double that scored both Sean Mejewski and Brian Welch, giving the Brewers a 2-1 lead. Steve Carlisle later drove in Johnson with a single.

The Brewers added three more runs in the top of the seventh inning thanks to some walks and wild pitches by the Fusion pitcher.

The Fusion added two runs of their own in a rally attempt in the bottom of the ninth inning, but Brewers pitcher Chris Parent was able to hang on for the complete game victory. Parent only gave up four hits while striking out nine in the victory.

The Rangers next game is Friday at The Ballpark at Schmacher Field when they host Hamel at 7:30 p.m.
