The Washington County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday appointed Chief Deputy Steve Pott as the interim Washington County Sheriff effective April 17, 2005. Pott will serve out the remaining term of Sheriff Jim Frank after he retires effective April 16, 2005. Chief Deputy Pott will serve as interim Washington County Sheriff until the next county election in November 2006.
