Girl Scout Cookie sale continues through Sunday, March 13
Girl Scout cookies not only satisfy a sweet tooth, they also help girls realize their dreams and help prepare todayís girls to become the leaders of tomorrow.
Locally, revenue from last yearís Girl Scout Cookie Program was used to send girls to camp, provide more than 2000 educational and fun programs to over 18,000 girls, and help local Girl Scouts fund community service projects in their neighborhoods.
Girls selling Girl Scout Cookies have been part of American life for more than 85 years. In fact, many of todayís top businesswomen credit the Girl Scout Cookie Sale as their first entrepreneurial experience.
Girl Scout Cookies sell for $3.50 per box. Eight delicious varieties will be available, including the ever-popular Thin Mints and traditional shortbread cookies. Samoas, second only to Thin Mints in popularity in our council, are turning 30 years old! Two cookies that debuted last year will return for 2005: the Double Dutch cookie has semisweet and creamy milk chocolate chips in a crunchy dark chocolate cookie, and the Lemon Cooler is a reduced fat crisp vanilla cookie with zesty lemon chips and a covering of powdered sugar.
