For the better part of the week the Forest Lake High School boys golf team was having an easy week ó then Monday came and they competed in two events, one at the TPC course in Blaine, the other a conference match in Stillwater.

The Rangers started the morning off at the TPC course at the Blaine Invitational. The Rangers finished second out of 20 teams at the invite. White Bear Lake was one stroke better with a team score of 309 compared to the Rangers 310.
Three Rangers meddled at the Blaine Invite. Jacob Svenkeson finished fifth with a score of 76 and Kyle Lewis and Noah Lawson tied for seventh with a score of 77. Mark Moberg was the fourth Rangers golfer whose score counted and he had an 80.

ìI think there is evidence in our last three invitationals with a first place finish and two second place finishes that weíre being consistent,î Rangers head coach John Buck said.

In the afternoon the Rangers traveled to Stillwater to compete in a Suburban East Conference event.
Moberg made some adjustments from his morning game and was the top individual golfer in Stillwater with his score of 36.

Lawson shot a 39, Svenkeson a 40 and Lewis a 42.

The Rangers team score was 157 and good enough for third place. Woodbury won the event with a team score of 151 with White Bear Lake right behind them with a score of 154.

ìWeíre still in the hunt for the conference title,î Buck said. ìThis weekís play will pretty much set up how things will end up.î

Currently the Rangers are in a tie with White Bear Lake in the conference standings behind Woodbury.

ìWeíve got to stay in the hunt here,î Buck said. ìWeíre having a good time and I am proud of them.î

The Rangers next event is today, Thursday, at Forest Hills at 1 p.m.
