When the Forest Lake High School softball team and Roseville first met earlier in the season the Rangers won 6-3. When the two teams met again last Wednesday the Rangers outlasted Roseville in a late inning shootout to sweep the season series 2-0.

The game was scoreless until Roseville mustered up three runs in the top of the fourth inning. The Rangers answered back with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Roseville added one more run in the fifth inning, but the Rangers broke out for five runs to take a 7-4 lead.

Roseville pulled within a run in the top of the sixth inning and held the Rangers in the bottom half of the inning. In the seventh inning Roseville continued to score, bringing two runners across the plate to go up 8-7.

Down by a run in the bottom of the seventh, the Rangers pulled ahead and earned a 9-8 victory.
The very next day the Rangers traveled to play a White Bear Lake team that narrowly beat the Rangers 6-5 earlier in the season.

White Bear Lake scored a first inning run that was the only score until the Rangers scored two runs in the top of the fourth inning to take the lead. White Bear Lake was able to tie the game in the bottom of the inning though.
In the fifth inning White Bear Lake added two more runs to the scoreboard, proving the difference in a White Bear Lake 4-2 victory.

Monday night the Rangers took on Mounds View. A victory over Mounds View would give the Rangers a .500 record.

Things looked good early for the Rangers as pitcher Jess Griffith kept Mounds View off the score board. The Rangers got two runs in the fourth inning, giving Griffith some breathing room.

It wasnít until the seventh inning when Mounds View was able to get a run across the plate. Unfortunately Mounds View got three runs across the plate to take a 3-2 lead, one the Rangers were unable to overcome.
The Rangers record is now 7-9 overall and 3-6 in conference play.

The Rangers next game is today, Thursday, at 4 p.m. when they host Park (Cottage Grove).
