Cleary chosen as new FLHS football coach

After months of waiting, the Forest Lake High School has released the name of the possible successor to Jim Herman for the head coach position of the football team. Pending school board approval tonight, Thursday, Matthew Cleary is the new head football coach.
Cleary has coached the Shell Lake, WI football team since 2000 and was an assistant at Spring Lake Park prior to that. Cleary guided Shell Lake to a Division 7 state title as the team had a record of 14-0.
Over four years of coaching at Shell Lake Cleary compiled a record of 39-15.
Cleary was just one of 30 applicants for the Forest Lake position. Eight of the 30 candidates were interviewed, Cleary obviously one of them. He is a graduate of White Bear Lake High School.
