Girls track places 4th in Roseville

Strong placing in the field events at the Roseville Invite helped the Forest Lake High School girls track team place fourth behind White Bear Lake, Roseville and Woodbury.

Becky Alexander placed first in the discus with a throw of 120í 9î and Steph England fourth with a throw of 96í. Alexander placed second in the shot put as well with a throw of 34í 7.5î.

Christy Newell helped the Rangers with a second place finish in the high jump with a height of 4í 10î. Newell also placed fifth in the pole vault with a height of 7í 6î.

In the long jump Brittni LaFontsee placed fifth with a jump of 15í 1.5î.

In sprints, Kristi Buerkle placed second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.52. Shaunna McNamara placed fourth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.42. Kelsey Kosmon placed fifth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.95.

The Rangers relay teams had a good day as well with the 800 meter relay team taking first place with a time of 1:53.40. The 4x400 meter relay team placing third with a time of 4:25.23.

The 4x200 meter relay team placed fifth with a time of 1:55.95 and the sprint medley team placed third with a time of 4:29.95.

The Rangers next meet is Tuesday at White Bear Lake at 4 p.m.
