Softball team wins 2 of 3 at Edina Invite

The Forest Lake High School softball team continued to improve upon last season by winning two of their three games at the Edina Invite over the weekend.

In their first game of the invite, the Rangers had little trouble defeating Park Center as they won the game 11-2.

In the second game of the invite the Rangers faced a tough Coon Rapids team. The two teams battled it out to the final out, with Coon Rapids being victorious in a close 2-1 game.

In the final game of the invite the Rangers recorded their first shutout of the season as they blanked Minnetonka 3-0.

ìWe had a good solid three games,î Rangers coach Angie Berg said.

Last Wednesday the Rangers lost to Stillwater 7-0 in a Suburban East Conference game.

With the success at the Edina Invite the Rangers record improves to 5-7.

ìI definatly expect to take some of those games that we had right there in the first time around,î Berg said. ìWe had a lot of close games in the first time around.î

The Rangers next game is today, Thursday, at White Bear Lake at 4 p.m. The Rangers return home Monday to host Mounds View at 7 p.m.
