The Forest Lake High School boys tennis team started the weekís plays with a loss to Roseville, but bounced back with a close victory over Hastings.
ìConsidering we havenít practiced because of the weather in over 10 days I would say we had a good week,î Rangers coach Greg Patchin said.
In the loss to Roseville last Wednesday singles player Luke Odegaard and doubles tandem Ted Steiner and Chris Albee earned the Rangers only points. The final score was 5-2.
The Rangers bounced back the very next day and Odegaard, Jeff Kohler and Dan Cromwell won their matches in singles play and the tandem of Rob Gavanda and Sammy Steiner won, giving the Rangers a 4-3 victory.
ìWe didnít finish very well against Roseville, but we did against Hastings,î Patchin said. ìWe need the seniors to pick up their game,î Patchin said. ìThe younger kids are carrying the team right now.î
The Rangers next match is Friday at Edina at 4 p.m.
