Motorcycle, mower lost in FL shed fire

A motorcycle and a lawn mower were destroyed by fire Monday night in Forest Lake.

Forest Lake Fire & Rescue was called to the Ivey Borgwardt home, 21335 Inwood Ave. N. shortly after 7:30 p.m. where volunteers found a shed burning.

A 1993 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a Murray lawn mower were destroyed in the blaze.

According to Forest Lake police department reports, the fire department was called back to the scene at 12:11 a.m. Tuesday when the fire rekindled. Estimates of damage loss were not available. The cause of the fire is also under investigation.

Other crimes

In other crimes reported to police here, officers are:

ïInvestigating the theft of a Honda generator valued at $900 from a truck at 4928 N. 202nd St. sometime over the weekend.

ïDetained a Forest Lake High School student who had been suspended for five days after he was reported at Century High School during the lunch period on Monday. The youth left the junior high school building after an incident with two staff members. He faces charges of disorderly conduct.

ïInvestigating the weekend theft of cabinets and wood trim from an Avalon Homes new home site at 19991 Enfield Ave. N. with total loss of between $2000 and $3000.

ïAssisted at a car-bicycle collision at 4th Street and Broadway on Friday. A 14-year-old city boy was riding his bike westbound on Broadway against a red light when he was struck by a car driven by a Wyoming man, 20. The youth was taken to Fairview Lakes Regional Medical Center, Wyoming, for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

ïAlerted Minnesota Department of Natural Resources officials to the presence of a homemade live trap at CR-50 and Jeffrey Ave. last Friday. The 55-gallon barrel trap that was dug into the ground contained a possum, police said. A citizen found the trap and called city police.

ïInvestigating the theft of $300 from a desk at Up To Date Bookkeeping, 179 S. Lake St. on Nov. 11. There were no signs of forced entry to the office building.
