At the Wyoming Township Board meeting last Tuesday, Oct. 25, the board moved to send a letter drafted by Town Attorney Tom Fitzpatrick to Chisago City regarding the cityís request to be involved in the ongoing merger discussions with the city of Wyoming. The letter invites any members of the council and its residents to attend any township board meeting where the results of these discussions are presented, and also to any public meetings on the subject, but does not invite any input in the current private merger discussion between Wyoming Township and city of Wyoming. In addition, the letter requests that Chisago City ìexplain to the township board how the city council perceives that the health, safety, and welfare of its citizens may be affected by this merger discussion.î The inquiry refers to a statement made in Chisago Cityís original letter requesting participation.
