Patchin falls in first round of state tournament

Paige Patchinís 2005 tennis season came to an end Friday as she lost her final match of the season in straight sets. Patchin canít be too upset though as her season ended at the AA singles state tournament.
Kathryn Schmidt of Hopkins defeated Patchin, a junior at Forest Lake High School, 6-1, 6-0 and advanced to the final four before her season too came to an end.
Going into the state tournament Patchinís coach and dad Greg Patchin said she had a ìdaunting taskî facing Schmidt, the 5AA champion who is an accomplished player whoís played in USTA tournaments since she was 10.
Patchin advanced to the state tournament after finishing second in the section 4AA tournament.
Patchinís season record closed out at 26-6 in singles play.
