Wins over Chisago Lakes and Mora have the Forest Lake High School volleyball team playing Duluth East in the final four of section 7AAA.

Wednesday the Rangers defeated Chisago Lakes 25-14, 25-8, 25-14.

ìWe really came at them nice,î Rangers head coach Sherri Alm said. ìWe didnít back off and played aggressive.î

The Rangers served as a team at 96 percent. Megan McKenzie led the team, serving at 100 percent with 10 points. Courtney Trenti and Chelsie Sobieck also served at 100 percent. Angie McKinnon served at 94 percent with four aces.

ìWe passed the ball pretty well. They (Chisago Lakes) made a lot of mistakes that helped us out as well,î Alm said. ìIt was nice to see us not get lax in our play.î

Friday the Rangers jumped ahead of Mora 25-12, 25-23 before dropping the third game 18-25. The Rangers rebounded and ended Moraís season with a 25-16 victory.

ìThe first game where we won 25-12 is where we should have been the whole match,î Alm said. ìThe middle section of the match we relaxed a little bit because the girls knew we were going to win, but Mora wasnít going to quit on us.î

McKenzie again led the Rangers in serving as she went 19-19 with two aces. Trenti was 17-18 serving with nine points and three aces and led the Rangers with 12 kills.

ìCourtney (Trenti) has a really nice game and she really chose her hits well,î Alm said.î
