Meth forum planned for teens and adults

ìMeth in our Communitiesî will be the topic of two concurrent educational sessions; one for teens and one for adults, at Sunnyside Church in Stacy on Wednesday, Oct. 26. The seminars will begin at 6:30 p.m. For teens, the session is designed to educate on the facts and reality of meth and other drugs to which they may be exposed in school and the community. Speakers for the teen session include Deputy Chris Beck, School Resource Officer, and Bill Headley, Maranatha Youth Director.

For adults, the session will focus on delivering information on health-related effects of use, crime involving meth and the environmental impact of meth production. Speakers will include Joe Grafft, Forest Lake School Board; Nancy Norman, County Attorney; Lt. Paul Sommers, Drug Task Force; Chief Clark Quiring, Forest Lake Police Department; Senator Michele Bachmann and Representative Ray Vandeveer. Along with Sunnyside Church, the seminars are also sponsored by Grace Alliance Church, of Forest Lake; Immanuel Church, of Forest Lake; Maranatha Assembly of God, of Forest Lake; Salem Lutheran Church, of North Branch; and St. Paul Lutheran Church, of Wyoming.
