Volleyball improves to 10-4

The Forest Lake High School volleyball team improved to 10-4 this week, 3-1 in Suburban East Conference play with wins over Hastings, Duluth East and Moose Lake-Willow River.

The Rangers had two SEC games to start the week, starting with a 3-0 loss to Stillwater last Tuesday, then a 3-2 victory over Hastings last Thursday.

The Rangers gave Stillwater a fight as Stillwater won 25-22, 25-19 and 28-26.

Two nights later the Rangers bounced back in a battle with Hastings. Hastings took a 25-21, 26-28, 24-26 lead, needing only one more victory to take the match, but the Rangers fought back to win the match with 25-15, 15-7 victories.

Over the weekend the Rangers went 2-1 in the Duluth East Tournament. In their first match of the tournament the Rangers defeated the host Duluth East 25-12, 25-15, but then fell 19-25, 25-13, 5-15 to Minneapolis South. The Rangers ended the tournament with a 25-18, 25-22 victory over Moose Lake-Willow River.

The Rangers next game is today, Thursday, when they host Mounds View at 7 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.
