There always seems to be a sense of excitement at the beginning of every new school year and this year, the students at Saint Peterís Catholic School looked forward to meeting their new school principal Ann Laird. Laird brings to Saint Peterís 11 years of experience in Catholic education, three in which she served as an elementary school principal. She received her BA and MAT degrees from the University of Saint Thomas and her postgraduate degree K-12 Principal Licensure from Saint Maryís University.

Laird has taught at a boarding school in Rhode Island and spent eight years teaching high school at Saint Agnes where she also coached tennis and track. The past three years she served as principal of Blessed Sacrament in St. Paul. Laird was born in Wisconsin and has four brothers and one sister. All of whom, except for one brother, live in St. Paul. Along with spending time with her family and playing with her 19 nieces and nephews, Laird also enjoys reading, watching movies and sports, especially college basketball and the Packers.
