Media staff at Forest Lake Area Schools went before the school board on Thursday, Sept. 1 to showcase offerings and programs at media centers across the district. Staff members presenting to the board at its regular meeting also used the session to lobby the board to restore staff and budgets cut during tough financial times. During their report, the media staff presented a recommendation that asked the board to: retain current staff (specialists and assistants) and reinstate media/AV assistants cut from Southwest and Century schools; stay current with technology; reinstate reference book budget out of capital outlay funds and; increase budget for books to reflect rising prices.
