$6200 OKíd for more park trees

Bigger and taller trees for the renovated Lakeside Memorial Park will result in $6200 in additional spending. City officials on Monday, including the Economic Development Authority board, approved the plan to add 10 more trees that are four inches to six inches in diameter and stand 15 to 20 feet tall. The cost was presented to the EDA board by Paul Hornby, a city engineer. The EDA board also gave approval to a plan for a stone marker to be placed near the entrance of the new boat launch area at the park. The sign will indicate the cooperative effort of the city and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for the new boat launch. A final design for the stone marker will be determined later. EDA members suggested the park board be allowed an opportunity to comment on the final design. The DNR has been an important partner in the $1.7 million park project with $164,714 in grants and funding.
