After a busy first week to the season, the Forest Lake High School girls tennis team was able to enjoy their last few days of summer vacation as they only had one match scheduled for the week.
Last Thursday the Rangers traveled to Hastings for their first Suburban East Conference match of the season.
Things were looking good for the Rangers as the singles scores came in with Paige Patchin winning 6-0, 6-3 and Hilary Framke winning 6-1, 6-0. Lauren Gravelle also won her singles match 6-3, 6-4.
The Rangers doubles werenít as successful though as Hastings swept all three doubles matches to win the match 4-3, handing the Rangers their first loss of the season.
ìIt was a nail biter,î Rangers coach Greg Patchin said. ìItís tough to win a match when you get swept in doubles though.î
The Rangers next match is today, Thursday, when they host Cretin-Derham Hall at 3:30 p.m.
