Volleyball wins season opener

With only one game on the schedule this week, also the teamís first of the season, the Forest Lake High School volleyball team decided to make it a memorable one and defeated North Branch 26-24, 25-23, 25-14.
Seniors Courtney Trenti and Pam Nora led the team in kills with nine apiece. Sophomore Chelsie Sobieck had eight kills and junior Megan Becker had seven.
Sobieck along with senior Angie McKinnon were the only Rangers with perfect serving percentages.
Sophomore Megan McKenzie led the team with 35 setting assists. Junior Nicole Tetrault led the team with 17 digs with McKenzie right behind her with 16.
The Rangers next game is Saturday when they take part in the Coon Rapids tournament starting at 9 a.m.
