Christy Sauro, author of the ìTwins Platoon,î will have his next book signing event from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, April 19 at the Har Mar Barnes & Noble Store in Roseville. Sauro, a North Branch resident and insurance agency owner in Wyoming, recently released his book which documents the life and times of young Minnesotans in 1967 who enlisted in the Marine Corps and took their oath of office at home plate of a Minnesota Twins game in 1967. By the end of the year, most of the 150 troops were in Vietnam. The April 19 event will begin with an open discussion and questions and answers surrounding Sauroís experiences in Vietnam. He will also autograph books. A number of former members of the Twins Platoon are expected to be in attendance. Also on tap for Sauro is a personal appearance 1-4 p.m., Saturday, April 22 for a book signing at the Anoka County Historical Society in Anoka.
