Michael T. Dill

Michael T. Dill, age 64, of Forest Lake passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully while sleeping March 29, 2006. Mike was born February 4, 1942 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Tom and Clara (ìMickeyî) Dill. Mike and his siblings Patty, Barb, Gini and Tom grew up in St. Paul as a very close-knit family. The Dills would leave the city life behind every summer to relax at their ìFamily Cabinî in Forest Lake. Mike graduated from Cretin High School and attended the University of Minnesota. He spent his early years working for The Hamm Brewing Company. Mike had three beautiful daughters: Melissa, Michele and Shannon with his former wife Jackie Hoffman. Regrettably, Mike and Jackie went their separate ways.

Years passed and life brought Mike to Brunswick, GA where he met his wife Kathy. They married in 1977 and made their home in Forest Lake where they raised their two children, Brandie and Tom. Life was busy and full as Mike pursued a thirty-five year career selling insurance. The years went by quickly with lots of hard work, fun, laughter, and occasional tears. Eventually, the Mike Dill family grew to include 11 wonderful grandchildren.

Mike was proud of his children and adored his grandchildren. He loved life... especially pheasant hunting in South Dakota, fishing, golfing and boating on Forest Lake. Mike cherished his friends and family, especially long-time buddy Dick Lynch. He was looking forward to retirement --spending time with friends, relaxing with his kids, and being the ìbest Bumpa everî to his grandchildren. Most importantly, Mike wanted to spend more time with ìhis brideî Kathy. She was the ìlove of his lifeî and he was the beat of her heart.

With your passing... our lives are forever changed. We will miss seeing your sweet smile, hearing your deep gruff voice, feeling your gentle touch and your big hugs. We will love you forever...until we meet again.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 8, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 1900 Wellesley Ave., St. Paul, with visitation from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with wake prayers and sharing of memories at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive and one hour prior to the service at the Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Forest Lake. Memorials preferred to Sharing and Caring Hands.
