Keeping cool at Hay Lake Day in Scandia
Saturday as former students and area residents turned out at the Hay Lake School to take part in the annual Hay Lake Day, the July reunion at the Washington County Historical Society Museum. The old one-room school closed in 1963 but continues to serve the public in many ways through WCHS programs and tours. The oppressive heat and humidity kept most visitors in the shade and sipping water and cold beverages.
