Lakeview Hospital Heart Center opens

After nearly three years of planning and construction, Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater has opened its new Lakeview Heart Center. The heart center will offer more convenient access to cardiac care for the more than 100,000 people living in the Stillwater area and western Wisconsin. The new center will also provide expanded heart care services, including imaging and diagnostic tests. Ground-breaking for the facility took place in October, 2005. The heart center has added more than 18,000 square feet of space, centralizing the hospitalís cardiovascular beds, critical care and outpatient services while allowing space for future growth. The center includes state-of-the-art private rooms designed for the specific needs of cardiac and critical care patients, their families and the staff who care for them. The building is an expansion of the current Lakeview Hospital and is located on the west side of the campus, along Greeley Street, near the Emergency Department. The center is in partnership with St. Paul Heart Clinic and United Hospital in St. Paul.
