Filings open for 1st Linwood fall vote

For the first time, two Linwood supervisors will be elected in November. Action is the result of residents voting to move township elections from March, the date of the annual township meeting, to coincide with the general election date in November. The change also means that terms move from three years to four years. The theory is that more residents turn out to vote during the general election. Supervisors will be elected for Seat A and Seat D. Mel Pfaffendorf was first elected supervisor in 1998 and is completing his second Seat A term. Dave Tryon currently holds Seat D. Tryon served as a supervisor between 1994-1996, and was appointed in April 2003 to complete the term vacated by Marvin McCormick. Linwood candidates can file for office through 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12. ó Alice Pickering
