On Wednesday, Sept. 6, Forest Lake Floral and Garden Center and Roberts Eckert Funeral Home will be giving away 5000 roses to area residents in honor of Good Neighbor Day. The roses will be distributed in bunches of six, under the condition that participants keep one for themselves and hand out the remaining five to neighbors, friends, family or co-workers. The Forest Lake rose pick up will take place at Roberts Eckert Funeral Home, 555 SW Centennial Dr., across the street from the Forest Lake Post Office. The event is being held for the 11th year throughout North America at participating floral shops as a day of celebrating goodwill.
