3 seats up on Wyoming City Council this year
Three seats are up for election in the city of Wyoming in November. Council seats currently held by Ted Phillips and Joe Zerwas are up for grabs. The term for a city council member is four years. Phillips has been on the council longer than any other council member. He is completing his first term in office.Zerwas was elected at a special election Feb. 17, 2005 to fill a seat vacated by the resignation of Al Juneau. Juneau served on the council briefly after his election in 2004. The mayorís seat is also up for election. Sheldon Anderson was elected mayor in November 2004 and his two-year term is nearly over. The city and Wyoming Township anticipated a completed merger by this time and two council members were to resign and be replaced by two supervisors. The merger decision will impact the make-up of the city council but it is unclear when. Candidates can file for office through 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12. ó Alice Pickering
