The Anoka County Board of Commissioners last week appointed Terry Johnson county zdministrator, effective immediately. Johnson succeeds the late John ìJayî McLinden who served as Anoka County administrator from 1982 until his death in November. Johnson most recently served as interim county administrator. Prior to that he was the manager of the Anoka County Finance and Central Services Division where he was responsible for all aspects of accounting, budgeting, capital improvements, cash management and investments, and property management. He was first employed by the county in 1984 as the finance and central services director. He received a B.A. degree in accounting from Moorhead State University. He also has earned a certified government financial manager designation from the Association of Government Accountants. ìI am very pleased that Terry has accepted the position of county administrator,î said Anoka County Board Chair Margaret Langfeld. ìHe did a remarkable job as interim county administrator during the difficult weeks of Jay McLindenís illness and death, stepping up to keep this county moving forward. He has a thorough understanding of county operations and his work ethic and leadership abilities are widely respected by colleagues within Anoka County and throughout the state.î
