A head-on collision on I-35E at CR-14 in Lino Lakes on Thursday has claimed one life. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a northbound 2003 Saturn Vue lost control, went through the median and a hit a southbound semi truck in the southbound lanes of the freeway. The driver of the Saturn was killed.

The accident was reported at 1:09 p.m. Road conditions were wet when the crash hapened. The name of the person killed in the crash has not been released. The truck driver was identified as Keith D. Ashfield, 31, of Watkins. He received minor injuries. The Lino Lakes Police Department and Anoka County Sheriff's Office assisted the State Patrol at the scene. Southbound I-35E was closed for several hours because of the crash.
