Gerald R. Gudmundsen
Gerald R. (Jerry) Gudmundsen, 74, of Punta Gorda, FL, passed away Friday, Nov. 24, 2006. He was born March 2, 1932 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Rolf and Lucille (Edwards) Gudmundsen.
Jerry served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was the owner of Jerryís Kitchens in Forest Lake, MN. He retired in 1991 and wintered in Florida until becoming a permanent resident in 2003.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 10 years, Diane; daughters Cheryle (Chester) Atkinson of Balsam Lake, WI, and Terese (Tom) Husnik of Vinton, Iowa; stepdaughters Diane (Steve) Hunt of Fort Myers, FL; brother Dick Gudmundsen; sisters Dory (Wally) Mulcahy and Nancy (Dick) Carlson; mother-in-law Dorothy Lakan; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Shirley; his parents; and a brother, Donald.
A memorial service in celebration of Jerryís life will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 9 at Crossroads Covenant Church in Forest Lake. A memorial fund is being set up in Jerryís name.
