Precinct caucus information available

Minnesota is among the states that hold precinct caucuses to elect delegates to attend party endorsement conventions as the first step in the 2006 election process. The precinct caucuses will be 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 7. Citizens who will be eligible to vote in the national election on Nov. 7 are eligible to participate in the precinct caucus March 7. Washington County serves as the coordinator of the precinct caucus locations within the county, but the locations are not necessarily the same as voting or polling locations. There are different precinct caucus locations for each of the three major parties in each legislative district included in the list. More information about precinct caucuses and the locations in Washington County listed by legislative district are included on the county elections web page: www.co.washington.mn.us/info_for_residents/atse/elections/precinct_caucus_information/. In Minnesota, precinct caucuses enable citizens to elect delegates who will attend party endorsement conventions later this spring and summer for the major parties in Minnesota: Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL), Independence, and Republican. Information about Minnesotaís precinct caucuses is located on the Secretary of Stateís web site: www.sos.state.mn.us/docs/mn_precinct_caucuses_2006.pdf.
