One candidate snubs election forum in Columbus Township

As they do for every local election, the Forest Lake Area Chamber of Commerce offers a candidate forum, and the upcoming Columbus Township election is no different. The only problem is some candidates donít want to show up, the rather have their own.
In the upcoming election seats D and E are up for grabs in the March 14 Town Board Election. Renae Fry and Margaret Hughes have filed for seat D which is currently occupied by John Wallner. Incumbent Mark Walsh and Jim Marshall have filed for seat D.
Chamber President Debby Feist said Marshall has sent a certified letter indicating he will not attend, and hasnít heard whether or not Hughes will be attending. Fry and Wallner have committed to attend.
Marshall and Hughes are have a ìMeet Marge and Jimî forum from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. tonight, Thursday, at Crossroads Activity Center, 17445 Notre Dame St.
Attempts to contact Marshall to find out why he wonít be attending the Chamber forum were unsuccessful.
