3 from FL area hurt in I-35W crash

A Forest Lake area woman and her child were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash on I-35W last Saturday afternoon. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Heidi L. Christensen, 26, of Forest Lake/Wyoming Township, and her daughter, Keeley, 5, and a second passenger, Renee C. Salzman, 26, Wyoming, were all hurt in the crash when the car Christensen was driving crossed the center median of southbound I-35W near TH-96 and collided with three oncoming northbound vehicles. According to police reports, Christensen overcorrected and lost control when she tried to avoid a car veering into her lane of travel. The State Patrol said Christensen was in serious condition at Hennepin County Medical Center while her daughter was in critical condition at the Minneapolis hospital. Salzman suffered minor injuries in the crash. Four people in the northbound vehicles also reported minor injuries.
