Man taken to jail on alcohol charges

Police in Forest Lake found themselves dealing with two separate incidents that involved alcohol during the past week.

Acting on a request from the Kandiyohi County Sheriffís Department, city officers went to a fourth-floor apartment unit at Whispering Pines, 7 NE 5th Ave. where they arrested a man on a series of warrants for alcohol-related offense.

Taken into custody was Wayne W. Middlestadt, 46. At the time of his arrest, his blood alcohol content was .358, according to city police reports.

Middlestadt was held on warrants from Kandiyohi, Anoka and Hennepin counties. He was taken to the Anoka County Jail following the arrest at 11:46 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9.

At 1:27 a.m. on Sunday, officers were called to the I-35 Rest Area for a report of a woman walking in the southbound lanes of the freeway.

The 47-year-old woman from North Branch told police she had been drinking, smoking marijuana and taking white pills. She told police she was trying to get from North Branch to Minneapolis to attend her brotherís wake.

Police here voluntarily transported the woman to Fairview Riverside Hospital in Minneapolis.

Dock thefts

Two residents on North Shore Trail N. reported the theft of sections of dock from their lakeshore homes last week.

A resident at 8336 North Shore Trail N. told police on Feb. 9 that dock sections valued at $6500 were stolen from his home. He reported the loss of 32 four-foot sections and eight two-foot sections of aluminum dock sections.

One day earlier, a resident at 8130 North Shore Trail N. reported the theft of dock valued at $5000. A total of 60 dock sections were stolen, according to police reports.
