5 snowmobiles, trailer stolen during stop at Perkins

A stop at Perkins in Forest Lake proved costly for five men on Saturday, Jan. 28.
Jason Ray Fleming, 30, of Norwood, told Forest Lake police he and four friends had stopped at the restaurant at 5 p.m. on Saturday. As they left the business at 1155 W. Broadway Ave. they found the trailer and five snowmobiles gone.
Police here said the five snowmobiles and Floe trailer had value of between $10,000 and $15,000. Three Arctic Cat and two Polaris machines were taken.
Later in the day, Forest Lake authorities learned from deputies in Chisago County the stolen trailer was found in the parking lot of MJL Rental in Stacy. Police said it appeared the machines had been unloaded and moved to a second trailer.
In a subsequent report filed with Forest Lake police on Monday, one of the stolen Arctic Cat sleds was recovered by the Isanti County Sheriffís Office.
No arrests have been made.
Thieves hit school
Three reports of thefts from vehicles and vandalism were made to police last Thursday from Lakes International Language Academy, 246 SE 11th Ave.
In the three reports, police said car windows were smashed out during daylight crimes that resulted in the theft of CDs and a vehicle stereo system.
Police have arrested two juvenile males who were observed tampering with a motor vehicle in the parking lot of the Village Apartments, 1007 SW Apartment Lane.
A boy, 17, from Forest Lake, and a second boy, 16, from Hugo, are being investigated for their possible involvement in the crimes.

In other crime reports, police in Forest Lake are:
ïInvestigating a residential burglary in the 5200 block of N. 240th St. where 200 DVDs were taken last weekend.
ïDealing with Chisago County for the return of a Buick Century reported stolen from Chisago County and abandoned in the parking lot of Taco Bell, 1279 W. Broadway Ave. over the weekend.
ïInvestigating the theft of a green Toyota Siena from the parking lot of The Forum and Anytime Fitness parking lot, 1432 S. Lake St. on Jan. 27. The vehicle was reported stolen by a Lindstrom woman at 11:39 a.m.
ïInvestigating the theft of jewelry during a forced entry burglary reported on Monday from a home in the 20000 block of Enfield Ave. N.
ïInvestigating a burglary report on Jan. 28 from a home in the 100 block of NW 6th St. that resulted in the loss of items from the home.
