Federal grand jury indicts Trammel
The man who was arrested in connection with an armed robbery at US Bank in Forest Lake on Jan. 5 has now been indicted for bank robbery by a federal grand jury. Thomas Daniel Trammel Jr., 28, who has listed addresses in Hamburg and Green Isle, was indicted on Jan. 24 for the robbery. According to the criminal complaint, at 4:11 p.m. on Jan. 5, Trammell entered the bank at 320 W. Broadway Ave. and presented a demand note to a teller that alluded to a gun. While the teller was removing money, the robber revealed a black handgun in the waistband of his pants. With the cooperation of a witness who saw Trammell fleeing the scene, the suspect was later stopped on I-35 near Harris after his vehicle became stuck in the ditch. He was arrested after a brief standoff. If convicted, Trammell faces a maximum potential penalty of 20 years in prison and/or a $250,000 fine. A trial date in federal court is pending.
