The ISD 831 Board of Education on Feb. 2 awarded contracts for a reroofing project at Forest Lake High School and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning upgrades at Lino Lakes Elementary School. Berwald Roofing was awarded the high school roof project with a low bid of $295,290. Seven bids were received for the work. The HVAC work at Lino Lakes Elementary will total $375,407 for two separate contracts. The mechanical work will be handled by Nasseff Mechanical Contractors in the amount of $329,735 while the temperature control work will be handled by Direct Digital Controls, Inc. in the amount of $45,672. Eight firms submitted bids for the HVAC projects. Health and safety dollars have been levied and received to fund the HVAC work. Bid awards for the work at both schools came in below school district estimates for the projects.
