Add one more intersection roundabout to the proposal that is taking shape for W. Broadway Ave. (CR-2) in Forest Lake. Mike Rogers, associate transportation planner for Washington County said this week that upon further review by staff and input from the Broadway Business Task Force, a roundabout at 4th Street will now be part of the county recommendation that goes before the Forest Lake City Council next Monday and the Washington County Board on Feb. 21. The change means a signal light will not be used at 4th and Broadway under the new plan that would see construction in 2008. County and city staff are now proposing that the redesigned Broadway with raised center island medians feature roundabout intersections at SW 19th Street, the east and west ramps to I-35, SW 12th Street, 7th Street, 4th Street and Broadway and Lake Street (US-61) in downtown Forest Lake.
