Pat Cheyne, a math teacher at Century Junior High, has been nominated for the Minnesota Teacher of the Year award. Cheyne is one of 120 teachers in the state to be considered for this honor. The 2006 Minnesota Teacher of the Year will be announced May 7. During the next few months a 22-member panel of community leaders will review nominations and name a group of semi-finalists and then finalists. The Minnesota Teacher of the Year program is organized by Education Minnesota.
