It was a crime of opportunity, but now a Stacy man faces a batch of charges after five snowmobiles were stolen in Forest Lake on Jan. 28

Police arrested Jeremy Kellum, 29, on Feb. 1 as officers here moved to apprehend subjects in several unrelated crimes. Police on Feb. 4 arrested a Forest Lake man in connection with two residential burglaries here.

In the snowmobile case, Kellum was arrested in Mora where he is being held for possession of stolen property. Forest Lake police said this week authorities here plan to charge the Stacy man with felony theft.

Kellum is being held in the Kanebec County Jail on several outstanding felony warrants and for possession of a stolen truck and possession of a stolen snowmobile, police said.

The investigation is continuing, police said.
