Are you interested in the community affairs of Forest Lake? Do you have ideas for community projects?

The Forest Lake Community Association is planning a pre-organizational meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 24th. The meeting will be at the Grace Alliance Church, 432 SE 11th Ave. at 7 p.m.

Anyone interested in participating in the governance of this non-profit organization, or with ideas on how to make our community a better place to live, the FLCA wants to hear from you.

On Nov. 22nd, 2005, 35 residents decided to form the FLCA in an attempt to keep the old District Memorial hospital property as public land.

Those who attended this meeting also believed there are other issues important to the Forest Lake community.

The draft FLCA Mission Statement reads: ìIt is the mission of the Forest Lake Community Association to give residents of Forest Lake a voice in the affairs of the city, to protect the interests of those citizens who are vulnerable, and to provide a platform for citizens to express ideas and desires with regards to local public policy. The association will be non-partisan.î
