Plans forming for National Night Out in FL
Plans are forming for this yearís National Night Out observance in Forest Lake.
The Forest Lake police and fire departments will be participating in this yearís observance, slated for Tuesday, Aug. 1. North Ambulance Service is also a partner in the 2006 event in Forest Lake.
ìThis is an opportunity for neighbors to gather and get to know each other,î said police Sgt. Greg Weiss, who is coordinating the event this year for the city police department.
As part of the advance planning for the Aug. 1 night out, police, ambulance and fire schedules are being formed for neighborhood block parties that will take place that evening.
Personnel from the fire, police and ambulancne departments will attend gatherings between 5-8 p.m. on Aug. 1 to discuss neighborhood safety issues.
Neighborhoods wishing to take part in National Night Out are asked to name a spokesperson and have that person contact Sgt. Weiss prior to July 26 in order for neighborhood schedules to be set.

Park event
Police, ambulance and fire personnel will also have a tent at Lakeside Memorial Park the evening of Aug. 1 from 6-9 p.m. to answer National Night Out questions for those attending the Arts in the Park program and the farmerís market.
