Minnesota State Sen, Michele Bachmann, R-Stillwater, officially filed July 10 for the U.S. House of Representativeís 6th District of Minnesota seat at the Secretary of Stateís office in St. Paul. The two-term state senator easily won her partyís endorsement at the Republican 6th District Convention on May 6. Bachmann thanked supporters and family as she filed for the congressional seat. ìI am honored and humbled by the outpouring of support from all across Minnesotaís 6th District. We are building a strong grass roots coalition focused on our shared values and vision. Consistently, voters say focus on job creation, tax relief and economic growth.î The district includes Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, and Wright counties and most of Anoka and Washington counties. Bachmann is a federal tax litigation attorney and is a state senator from Senate District 52. Michele and her husband Marcus have five children and live in Stillwater.
