CUPs top Wyoming Town Board list

Jackie Lallier

Conditional use permits were at the top of the business list for Wyoming Townshipís board meeting on Tuesday, June 27.

The public hearing had been held for the Comfort Heights development and the planning commission approved the preliminary plat.

Troy Livgard, engineer for B & L Development, was present to answer any questions and the town board felt the plan was ìpretty standardî for the 26 lots planned. A community septic system plus eight mound systems will be constructed.

The cluster design and plan unit (one-acre lots) development plus open space, a well house and future swimming pool are in the plans. The board granted the CUP and commented the developer is making the best use of this parcel of land, especially by using a waste water system that can easily be integrated into a city system in the future.

Gloria Olson has presented a preliminary and final plat for a lot split that the planning commission said was ìstraight forward.î The board approved this request.

Other reports

The developer for the Heath Avenue project has been requested to pay an additional $46,000 for road construction because of increased prices in asphalt since the development agreement was entered into over a year ago containing ìestimatedî values.

If this money is not forthcoming, it will be considered a breach of contract.

Township Engineer Mark Erichson, will prepare figures for bonding the Heath, Itasca, 243rd and 244th Streets at the high end of the assessable portion of this particular project.

It was decided to renew two certificates of deposit that are expiring as only a small amount of interest will be lost if the money is needed to pay for the street project.

Zoning Administrator Fred Weck reported that a water testing clinic was held recently by the State Department of Agriculture. Seventy samples were brought in, the majority in the township were found to be at ìzeroî (good), and water samples in the Grand Avenue area are improving.

The 2007 budget was accepted and will be presented at the annual meeting. The town board said it represents a guideline and will be useful if a consolidation of the city of Wyoming/Wyoming Township takes place before September.

There has been no word from the Ramsey County District Court and the township does not expect to receive notice until after the first of July.
