Friday, June 23 is the last day for residents of ISD 831 to submit applications for appointment to a vacant seat on the school board. The school board is accepting applications as part of a process to replace Keith Dunham. Dunham, who is moving from Forest Lake, resigned effective June 1. Once the application period is closed, the school board will set a time for interviews. Each of the six board members can nominate one candidate for interviews based on existing school board policy. Decisions on the interview date and the selecting candidates for interviews could be made when the school board meets in regular session on Thursday, June 29. District residents interested in serving on the school board may submit applications at the District Office Building, 6100 N. 210th St. Candidates must be an eligible voter, at least 21 years of age, a resident of the school district for at least 30 days and not a convicted sex offender.
