Patriotic Pontoon Parade on FL July 1
Forest Lakeís Independence Day weekend celebration will take on a new twist this year. The Forest Laker is planning its first Patriotic Pontoon Parade on Saturday, July 1. There is no cost to the event and all kinds of boats are welcome. The parade will form between 2:30-3:30 p.m. on First Lake at Lakeside Memorial Park. A 90 minute cruise around the chain of lakes is planned. All boat captains will receive a T-shirt and there are prizes for crew members. Awards for the most patriotic boat will follow on the Forest Laker patio at 6 p.m. Participants are welcome to stay for live music and a BBQ rib dinner. Music for the day includes the Party Guy from 3-7 p.m. and Jake ìShakeyî Newman from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The parade will cap a month-long grand opening for the new and expanded Forest Laker in downtown Forest Lake.
