The winning recipe for the baseball team continues to satisfy as great pitching, solid defense, and timely hitting delivered another victory; this one sending the boys to Duluth for a Monday afternoon doubleheader in the Section 7AAA Finals.

On Thursday, June 1, head coach Brian Raabe sent Jed Hanson to the mound, and then watched the senior lefthander pitch a four-hit shutout in a 6-0 win over visiting Elk River.

The Rangers nursed a 2-0 lead through five innings when the hopes of adding an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth turned into a four-run explosion.

Elk River made matters interesting in the latter stages of the game, only to be turned down in the top of the seventh when Hanson threw one of his nine strikeouts in a three up, three down finish.
