Rock band, ribbon cutting opens new park
Backed by the music of the Rockin' Hollywoods, a crowd estimated by Forest Lake Police at 2500 watched city of Forest Lake officials cut the ribbon during the grand re-opening of Lakeside Memorial Park in downtown Forest Lake last Friday night. The grand opening was in concert with the kick-off concert to the summer Arts in the Park series at the park. Mayor Terry Smith, right, helped Bob Moorhouse, crew chief with Forest Lake Contracting, the firm that did the work, do the official ribbon cutting as park board members looked on. The park will host free gazebo acts at 7 p.m. every Tuesday night. A Farmer's Market is also planned again this summer. (Photo By Abby Nadeau)
