School moves on food service needs
One down and one to go. The ISD 831 Board of Education last week approved the purchase of one recommended food service department need and authorized the board to proceed with bids for a second departmental need. The board voted 6-0 on June 1 to approve the purchase of walk-in coolers and freezers for Scandia and Linwood elementary schools. Acclaim Services, Inc. was the low bidder at $116,300. The district this year, not pleased by the results of an earlier round of bidding, rejected bids and redid the process. Crosstown Mechanical, Inc. was second low bidder at $215,368.40. The board last week also OKíd the bid process for food service equipment at Forest Lake High School. The district will seek bids on a new ventilation and fire suppression hood, floor drainage improvements and new equipment installation for greater kitchen safety efficiency at the high school.
