Incumbents defeated in Linwood Town Board election

Linwood Town Board Supervisors Rudi McCurdy and Marie Holm were defeated Tuesday in reelection bids.

In the race for Seat B, Philip Osterhus knocked off McCurdy 526 to 204. In a three-way race for Seat E, Scott Bailey won the contest with 308 votes. Holm was second with 290 votes while Kevin Ryan played spoiler by collecting 117 votes. Both seats are three-year terms.

In the race for town clerk, incumbent Judy Hanna survived a close Tuesday challenge. Hanna defeated Tom Lukkonen, 387 to 340, to claim another two-year term as clerk.

Linwood voters also approved a proposition that will move the town elections from March to November to correspond with the November general election schedule. The ballot question passed with 579 citizens in favor and 119 opposed.
